Bangalore: In a bid to encourage entrepreneurship, Bangalore based Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence (CEE) had organised a Fundraiser event at the city’s hotel Leela Palace on Friday, 25th July, 2014. The event was inaugurated by the national spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party Meenakshi Lekhi and has seen huge participation of entrepreneurs from all 
walks of life.
The event started with the keynote addresses by the advocates of CEE, Dr. Som Singh & Tejasvi Surya. In her speech, Dr. Som Singh, Founder, Unspun Consulting Group and official mentor at Nasscom 10K start-ups said, “At CEE, we always strive to bridge the gap between the policy makers and the entrepreneurs. The funds raised at the event will be used to develop the technology platform to educate the entrepreneurs and help them communicate their ideas with the policy makers, internal practices of providing mentoring to the entrepreneurs under expert guidance that the entrepreneurs can leverage upon.” She also mentioned that, the funds will be utilized in arranging workshops, webinars, online workshops, etc. for entrepreneurs to educate them on the Government policies that they can benefit from. “We are glad to have a national personality like Meenakshi Lekhi with us, who will share with us some valuable information on Government schemes and funding options for start-ups, as well as entrepreneurs. We hope all the entrepreneurs present here will gain benefit from this interaction,” she added.
Tejasvi Surya, State Secretary – BJP Youth Wing, Karnataka, and Founder, Arise India said, “It gives me immense pleasure to say that, CEE’s endeavour to provide a platform to the entrepreneurs to voice their opinion is truly making a difference in their lives. The fund raised today will be used in building the technology platform to educate the entrepreneurs and help them communicate their ideas with the policy makers.”
After the inauguration, Meenakshi Lekhi elaborated on the schemes that the Government plans to introduce to allocate the Rs. 10,000 crore funds for start-up and SMEs in India. She said, “The Indian start-up scenario is moving towards a very bright future and in the coming years, the start-ups will decide the economic destiny of the nation. CEE is such an organisation, which is relentlessly working towards filling the gap between the entrepreneurs and the Government, thus helping the entrepreneurs achieve their goal.” Talking about the Rs. 10,000 crore funding Lekhi said, “The Government expects full utilisation of the schemes and the funds so that, Indian entrepreneurs can proceed forward with their innovations.” She also stressed on the importance of innovation and hoped that, Indian start-ups will ably compete in the global landscape.
The entrepreneurs got the opportunity to clarify their doubts and share inputs in the one-on-one session with Meenakshi and Dr. Som Singh. This session registered greatest participation from the entrepreneurs.
The closing remarks were given by Dr. Som Singh which was followed by Hi Tea with Meenakshi Lekhi before the event was concluded.
The Fundraiser event has seen phenomenal response from entrepreneurs from all walks of life. The aim of CEE to bring the entrepreneurs and the policy makers in a single platform hence fulfilled satisfactorily.
