To facilitate people to verify their names on the electoral rolls, the Election Commission has decided to hold special camps on Sunday, 9th March in each and every polling station simultaneously across the country.
“The electoral roll of the polling station area will be pasted on the wall of the concerned polling station and the booth level officers (BLO) shall be available in the camp to assist the people in filing form 6 if their names are not on the roll,” Election Commission said.
The electoral roll shall also be read out in the special camp to assist people who cannot read, EC said.
If the name of any person eligible to be enrolled is left out for some reason or has been wrongly deleted, such a person should immediately fill an application for inclusion of the name (in the electoral rolls) in Form 6 and hand it over to the booth level officer (BLO) who will be sitting outside the polling station, EC said.
The commission also said that a person cannot vote if his name in not on the voter list.
