Mumbai : In another first-of-its-kind initiative, India’s fastest growing online bus ticket booking portal, Abhibus.com has introduced a unique 
‘BusMeal’ for passengers who book tickets on their site for journeys which originate from Hyderabad. The website has partnered with Foody’s, which is a call center-driven food delivery service that caters from some of the popular restaurant brands in Hyderabad. The BusMeal service will be available from September 4th, 2013 on www.abhibus.com
Any passenger who books his/her ticket through Abhibus.com now has the option of booking a meal from a variety of restaurants that are serviced by Foody’s. The pre-packaged meal in leak-proof containers, along with fork, spoon and some tissues, will be hand delivered to the passenger at the boarding point.
Currently this service is only available for journeys originating from Hyderabad. Passengers can choose from a range of 10 reputed restaurants like Paradise, Shadab, Sarvi, 4 Seasons, Nanking, Little Italy, Ofen, Beyond Coffee, Vasantha Bhavan and Minerva Coffee Shop which are part of the Foody’s delivery network.
Mr. Sudhakar Reddy Chirra, founder and CEO of Abhibus, said, “This is another initiative from our end to ensure that the passengers who book through Abhibus.com get the best of services. Sometimes it so happens that when you are in a particular city, you get so busy that you aren’t able to try some of the local delicacies. This is where Abhibus’s Initiative comes in handy.” Elaborating on the service he added, “We have tied up with Foody’s for this service and are launching this in Hyderabad and it will soon be expanded to Bengaluru, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Pune, Mumbai and New Delhi by the end of the year.” This is yet another unique initiative for bus travelers from Abhibus.com, prior to this they have also introduced bus travel insurance for passengers who book a ticket through their website.
Mr. Naeem Khan, founder and CEO of Foody’s said, “Our main objective is to ensure that people travelling in long distance buses get to eat the food of their choice from the restaurant of their choice.” He also added that the restaurant network would be added as new cities would be added to the service.
