Leadership is not gender specific, said Ms. Sulajja Firodia Motwani, Vice Chairman, Kinetic Engineering Ltd. addressing about 400 businesswomen here at Hyderabad city. She was speaking at a talk on “Is Leadership in a Woman’s DNA?” organised by FICCI Ladies Organisation – Hyderabad, the women’s wing of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce striving for women empowerment through the promotion of entrepreneurship and managerial excellence here at Hotel Trident, Hyderabad. FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) National President Malvika Rai, National Governing Body and other office bearers were also present on the occasion. Connect – a newsletter of FICCI Ladies Organisation – Hyderabad Chapter was also released.

Speaking on the occasion Ms. Sulajja opined that women are more persuasive than men and are better at problem solving and decision making. Women are good team workers and are willing to take risks. Their strong interpersonal skills, flexibility and empathy help them in leadership roles, she said. The program held late evening yesterday was organised with an aim to help participants develop leadership and managerial skills informed Ms. Jyotsna Angara, Chairperson, FICCI FLO – Hyderabad Chapter. Sulajja Firodia is a great example for women leadership in India. She is known for her leadership qualities and has made a name for herself in the auto industry. She introduced some impressive changes and even restructured the company and is a driving force behind Kinetic, she added.

Established in 1983, FLO is a division of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), which is the apex body of Industry and Chambers of Commerce in India. FLO t is one of the most prestigious pan-India business organizations with 10 chapters and nearly 3200 members across India, committed to working towards women empowerment through business women development and capacity building initiatives besides other programmes.

FICCI FLO – Hyderabad Chapter began its operations in the year 2002 and has a membership base of about 400 members. Some of the services and activities of the FLO include: Personality Development, Awareness Programs, Training, Business Consultancy, Networking and Recognition.
