The tour arrived in the dream city of the nation, Mumbai, in its third stop. The evening was impeccably crafted to bring out the best in design, music, technology and style.

A true ambassador of Style and Substance, Wasim Akram set the stage by decoding his style at the 10th edition of the tour. Handcrafted to perfection is almost synonymous to the Blenders Pride Reserve Designers for the evening, Neeta Lulla and Suneet Varma who showcased their creations on the first day of the tour in Mumbai. Groovy notes of music, by Gaurav Raina and Tapan Raj, blended with the essence of designs on the ramp, epitomising true craftsmanship.

Mr. Raja Banerji, Assistant Vice President at Pernod Ricard India said, “This is a very proud moment for all of us at Blenders Pride Fashion Tour as we celebrate 10 years of style, substance and excellence. As we enter the third leg of this stylish journey, we are setting the stage for the various talents to celebrate style like never before. This year, the Tour goes grander, infused with newer dimensions from various facets of art-forms along with fashion and glamour in literature, sports, music and cinema.”

At Blenders Pride Fashion Tour, the technology concepts comprising of augmented reality and social media, along with explicitly curated music by Midival Punditz, for the entire tour, kept the audiences engaged and excited. The décor exuded handcraft and delicate patterns that accentuated the whole experience

Transforming the look of every model, inspired by the wonderful, hand painted Havelis of Shekhawati, were the traditional designs of Suneet Varma with a modern twist – curated in stunningly stark white and ivory shades with color on color aari embroidery and dark navy and cobalt blue embellished with antique and burnt gold and copper thread. Speaking on his view on Style, the ace designer said “Being in the fashion industry for over 25 years, I clearly see how the Indian fashion has evolved. It feels great to see my students like Namrata Joshipura and Pankaj of Pankaj & Nidhi curating and decoding style in their own ways at Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2014. Youngsters are currently driving the fashion industry. While their style is definitely more modern, young and trendy, they have not forgotten our culture, architecture and literature. Hence, I believe style is perception.”

Enigmatic nudes & gold flowing voluminous silhouettes paired with intricate textures of ribbon work in satin, detailed with ornate hand work of a mix of gota and crystal on tuelle and silk decoded the ‘Neeta Lulla Reserve Collection’. Presented in an extremely inimitable style, the gorgeous, Aditi Rao Hydari walked down the ramp showcasing Neeta’s collection.

Elaborating on her sheer elegant designs, Neeta Lulla said, “Today it’s all about style and attitude. My collection draws inspiration from the fifties and spells fluidity and sensuousness of feminity and its strength. These attributes were best personified by Marilyn Monroe and Meena Kumari in two very diverse film industries, and these two powerful women have been a key inspiration for this collection of mine. Through our distinctive fabrics, vivacious colours and intricate embroideries, we are creating a global trend for varied style statements. Blenders Pride Fashion Tour is a platform for me to express my distinct style. Style, therefore, for me is the power to express freely.”

Former Pakistani cricketer, Wasim Akram elucidated his fascinating story of self-discovery, “I am delighted to be associated with Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2014 as this is one platform which goes beyond fashion and is defining style with substance. I have walked the ramp in most stylish of the apparel as well but true style remains core to your confidence, confidence that can drive your passion in the most fruitful manner. I believe style is being so confident about yourself that you change the game in your favour wherever you go.”

The first day of the tour in Mumbai brought together an entourage of brilliant artists exuding style that is essence of their success. With distinguished hues, motifs, techno artistic treats and punk chords, the riveting evening ended while setting the stage for another day of verve.
