Self styled Godman Rampal, who was arrested from his Satlok Ashram at Barwala in Hisar last 
night, has been sent under judicial custody by the Punjab and Haryana High Court till November 28th. He was produced in the court by the police after proper medical checkup, today afternoon.
Rampal’s counsel submitted that he was in capitivity within his Ashram and had not used his followers as shield.
Earlier in the day, High Court had ordered Haryana DGP to submit detailed report of expenditure incurred on the operation and other important facts related to it by next hearing. Also Haryana Chief Secretary had been asked to ascertain the assests of Rampal.
Haryana Director General of Police S N Vashisht said that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by Inspector General of Police, Hisar Range has already started searching the Satlok Ashram. Besides senior police officers, the SIT also consists of forensic and cyber crime detection experts. They are likely to submit their report within couple of days. Satlok Ashram has been evacuated. The remaining 4000 people including 1500 women have been safely taken out of the ashram today and facilitated to go back to their homes.
DGP S N Vashisht confirmed that 459 close aides of Rampal have been taken into custody. New cases of murder and arms and ammunition have also been registered against them and Rampal. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has appreciated police for its successful operation.
