AAPI-Global body of Indian Doctors based in USA is willing to collaborate various state governments to strengthen healthcare delivery system

Vijayawada: Dr. Suresh Reddy, Regional Director of Association of American Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) accompanied by its delegations met Health Minister of Government of Andhra Pradesh Dr. Srinivas Kamineni today to invite him to participate in the “Health Ministers Summit” to be attended by Health Ministers of the  29 states and Union Health Minister in July 2015 at Florida. The delegation has already met Dr. Rajaiah, Health Minister of Telangana State.  Union Health Minister.  Health Ministers of both the state were also invited to grace the AAPI proposed Gobal Healthcare Summit in Mumbai in coming January.

Already Union Health Minister and Health Ministers of several states have consented to participate AAPI’s Annual Convention to be held in Florida, USA in July 2015.

AAPI is ever willing to collaborate with different state governments to strengthen healthcare delivery system  informed Dr. Suresh Reddy.

AAPI is a forum to facilitate and enable Indian American Physicians to excel in patient care, teaching and research and to pursue their aspirations in professional and community affairs. There are currently little over one lakh doctors of Indian origin in the United States of America and they account for 10% of all doctors in the USA and 40% of all International Medical Graduates employed in the US workforce. It is noteworthy that India provides the largest number of International Medical Graduates to the US in absolute numbers. Every six patient in America is seen by an Indian Doctor informed Dr. Suresh Reddy.

India is by far the single largest source of physicians in the world

Dr. Suresh Reddy and Dr. Srinivas Kamineni discussed the health care awareness in general and prevention of cardiac disease in India and Andhra Pradesh in particular. There was also discussion regarding establishment of International Training Center organized by American Heart Association ( AHA) for Advanced  and basic Cardiac life support for mandatory training of the health care professionals  including physicians, and nurses.

Dr. Srinivas Kamineni offered support for all the projects undertaken by the NRI physicians. AAPI represents more than 100 thousand Indian physicians living in USA. ATMG and OGKMA represent more than 10 thousand telugu physicians living in USA. There are several physicians in US who wants to serve India in various capacities but dot know where to begin. These health ministers can give an insight on how to proceed informed Dr.Suresh Reddy
