American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin, forum of one lakh plus Doctors, invites Rajaiah, Dy CM & Health Minister to join the “Health Ministers Summit” at USA

Hyderabad: DR. Suresh Reddy, Regional Director of AAPI (American Association of Physicians Dr. Suresh Reddy Regional Director AAP 257x300 American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin, forum of one lakh plus Doctors, invites Rajaiah, Dy CM & Health Minister to join the Health Ministers Summit at USAof Indian Origin) and President Elect of Osmania, Gandhi and Kakatiya Medical Alumni of  USA (OGKMA) and  President of American Telugu Medical Graduates of USA,),  met  Dr. T Rajaiah, Health Minister of Government of Telangana here in city on Satuday morning at his residence.

AAPI is a forum to facilitate and enable Indian American Physicians to excel in patient care, teaching and research and to pursue their aspirations in professional and community affairs. There are currently little over one lakh doctors of Indian origin in the United States of America and they account for 10% of all doctors in the USA and 40% of all International Medical Graduates employed in the US workforce. It is noteworthy that India provides the largest number of International Medical Graduates to the US in absolute numbers. Every six patient in America is seen by an Indian Doctor informed Dr. Suresh Reddy.

India is by far the single largest source of physicians in the world

Dr. Suresh Reddy represents nearly one lakh Physicians of Indian origin in America.  He met the minister along with his delegation to invite him to join them at their Annual Convention to be held in June from 17 to 21 at Florida. Invitation was also extended on behalf of Dr. Ravi Jahagirda, AAPI President  and Dr. Seema Jain, President Electo of AAPI.  to Dr Rajaiah to join the ‘Health Ministers Summit’ to be organized on the sidelines of Annual Convention by NRI physicians in the upcoming Anual Meeting .

Already Health Minister of five Indian states and Union Health Minister has consented to participate in the Health Ministers Summit, informed Dr. Suresh Reddy.

This summit gives an accurate insight into the actual needs of Indian people in improvement of health care and health education. It also increases the collaboration with India on Research and development and recent advances in medicine. Additionally it involves Formal Exchange  of medical students and trainees for mutual benefit. He briefed the Minister of various activities taken up by AAPI and OGKMA.

He also briefed the minister about the upcoming Global Health Care Summit that will be organized by NRI physicians in Mumbai, India, Jan 2-4, 2015 and will be attended by the Union Health Minister. Dr. Suresh Reddy and Dr. Rajaiah discussed the health care awareness in general and prevention of cardiac disease in India and Telangana in particular. There was also discussion regarding establishment of International Training Center organized by American Heart Association ( AHA) for Advanced  and basic Cardiac life support for mandatory training of the health care professionals  including physicians, and physicians in training and nurses.

Dr. Rajaiah offered support for all the projects undertaken by the NRI physicians. AAPI represents more than 100 thousand Indian physicians living in USA. ATMG and OGKMA represent more than 10 thousand telugu physicians living in USA. There are several physicians in US who wants to serve India in various capacities but dot know where to begin. These health ministers can give an insight on how to proceed informed Dr.Suresh Reddy
