Ammonium nitrate used in Bodh Gaya bombs

Initial forensic analysis of the bombs that ripped through the Bodh Gaya temple premises points to the use of NIA Ammonium nitrate used in Bodh Gaya bombsammonium nitrate in them.

The nature of the bombs used in the blasts, allegedly by Indian Mujahideen members, was similar to those found in Jaipur, Pune and Ahmedabad blasts.

On Sunday, both NIA and NSG teams reached Gaya and taken samples from the blast site.

One person was detained on Monday by the NIA in connection with the serial blasts at the Mahabodhi temple.

DIG, Magadh Range, Nayyer Hasnain Khan said an identity card was found within the temple premises on the basis of which the person was detained.

According to police officials, all CCTV cameras in the Mahabodhi temple premises were fully functional.

Footage is being analyzed and based on information thus gathered, some more people are likely to be questioned soon.

No group has claimed responsibility for what Government described as a terror attack.

Bihar DGP said the explosion was engineered with the materials capable of causing high and low intensity explosion.

Meanwhile, security in and around the renowned spiritual centre was tightened following the nine serial blasts that ripped through its campus. Two persons were injured in the incident.

The gates of the Mahabodhi temple in Bodhgaya district of Bihar remained shut today morning as investigation teams surveyed the area.

Following a government advisory, security in states with a sizeable Buddhist population and places of worship has been increased.
