Government has decided to de-regulate diesel prices. The prices of fuel will be linked to DIESEL PRICE 300x213 Govt decides to de regulate diesel prices; Diesel price slashed by Rs. 3. 37 per litre in Delhimarket.

As per the decision diesel prices will be cut by Rs. 3.37 per litre in Delhi which will be effective from midnight tonight.

The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting in New Delhi this evening. Briefing media, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said the Cabinet also approved relaunching direct benefits transfer scheme in a move effective manner.

He said, beneficiaries having bank accounts under Jan Dhan Yojana will now get subsidy on LPG directly in their accounts.

Presently, the subsidy on the fuel is provided to the beneficiaries having bank accounts under Aadhaar.

The Finance Minister said the CCEA also approved new gas price formula which will be applicable from 1st of next month.

He said gas prices will be revised on half yearly basis on 1st of April and October every year.

The Cabinet today gave its nod for Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project Phase-1 covering a length of 35.96 kilometres.

The total project cost will be Rs. 10,773 crore.

It will considerably reduce traffic congestion and bring in fast, comfortable, pollution-free and affordable mass transportation system in Ahmedabad.

About 6.3 million people will be benefitted by the project.

Cabinet also gave its approval to for the framework inter-Governmental Memorandum of Understanding MoU that is to be finalised by the Government of India with the Government of Iran.

It will facilitate India’s participation in the development of Chahbahar port in Iran.
