Gautam Kotamraju, Chief Creative Officer, Myntra said, “We are proud to have kicked off the first ever Myntra Fashion Weekend with the fabulous Falls 2014 Trend show curated by Rina Dhaka. Bohemia and Neo-Ethnic are very strong fashion trends that are currently very popular with Myntra consumers and we worked closely with Rina to curate these looks for the ramp. Sushmita Sen phenomenally brought these trends to life in the show. We’re hoping that with such a great start, Myntra Fashion Weekend will become the perfect annual fashion destination for our consumers.”

“It’s a pleasure and delight to have walked for the opening show of Myntra Fashion Weekend which allows consumers to be at the core of all the fashion trends. Rina Dhaka did a fabulous job by creatively curating two very interesting fashion trends making it that much easier to now recreate these unique looks at home. I’d like to congratulate Rina for putting together such a beautiful show and also to Myntra and IMG Reliance for successfully bringing the fashion weekend to India”, said Sushmita Sen who walked for the show.

Curating the show in a very unique fashion, talented designer Rina Dhaka said,“I’m thrilled to be opening Myntra Fashion weekend with a collection that showcases an effortless, young-spirited and very modern style. I have personally curated a mix of designers’ work under one story head and this is what brings the Bohemian and Neo Ethnic trend alive. The best part of this collection is its unique price point, which makes it accessible to all our fashionistas out there. The last few months have been an insightful journey with the Myntra team and I am delighted to be a part of this event.”

BOHEMIA – EASY BREEZY FASHION

Get a fun wardrobe that has everything your heart desires. Mix and match in black and white monochrome with a hint of grey for cute hot shorts, lacy tops, printed lazy pants and minis from a variety of top brands in the country that retail on Myntra.com. When it comes to an evening out for intense party hopping, slinky maxis, asymmetrical tunics, will-power fun dresses and gypsy skirts with figure-hugging tops will be the perfect choice. Tunics with embroidered yokes and mini jumpsuits will be just right for a weekend break by the sea. Go bohemian, go relaxed and wear your style anywhere anytime.

NEO-ETHNIC – TRADITION GOES CONTEMPORARY

With the festivities in top gear in India, celebrate Diwali with colourful traditional offerings from Neo Ethnic. Nothing looks more elegant and graceful than the Neo Ethnic line which has enough to boggle the mind of any fashionista. Cute tops, kedia like blouses and swinging skirts add to the magic of the style quotient.

PARTY DRESSES

Moving away from ethnic chic are the line of party dresses in multi-prints and belted at times with mirror work edges for an interesting emphasis on the waistline. A stunning option for semi-formal wear could be a long slit printed black and white skirt teamed with lacy jacket and bustier.

Giving the show a fabulous thrilling end, the stunning Miss Universe 1994 Sushmita Sen, struts in wearing an all-black entry, comprising knit mesh top, figure-hugging leather pants and knee-high boots as Raghav Sachhar serenades her on the saxophone.

TREND CHECK

Polka dots look great on mini jumpsuits

Blouson your blouse for a dual look

Cinch waists with elastic belts edged with mirror work

Flared bell sleeves are great for party dresses as well tunics and tops

Add a mirror work bolero over kedia like tops, tunics and bring varying looks to your wardrobe.

Monochrome looks in black and white are still the hottest trend off the ramp in animal, ethnic, geometric or any varying prints you desire.

Detailing could be large flap pockets to highlight a mini.
