The August Fest 2014 is an event for start-ups and creative professionals that is also conceived and curated by start-ups. It is a festival eagerly looking forward to by many Art Entrepreneurs.
In its second edition this year, it will be organised in association with TSIIC(Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation), Hysea(Hyderabad Software Exporters Association), NASSCOM, IIIT-H, ISB and a bouquet of start-ups. Added Ramesh Loganathan.
Disclosing this in a press note issued here in city today, Mr. Murali Bukkapatnam, President – TiE Hyderabad and Managing Director & CEO, Getdomestichelp.com said, “The August Fest 2014 will be a great platform for early-stage start-ups as they will get exposure and opportunity to infuse creativity and innovative ideas from various fields. This fest will also open the path for pitching and getting instant seed-funding for the start-ups. The concept of this festival very well gels with the vision and objectives of TiE.”
As one of the anchors of the Festival, TiE Hyderabad will provide the participants a comprehensive eco-system with vital resources for every stage of the entrepreneurial process, Murali added.

The second edition of The August Fest 2014 is bringing many speakers from various fields in High Powered talks. We are expecting a few start-ups funded in two days thru various angel networks. Started and presented by ESD (Eat Sleep Drink Start-up- an art and culture promotion not-for-profit org) last year, it will be a carnival of celebrating arts (photography, short films, fashion and art) and entrepreneurship. The first edition held in 2013 was an instant hit. Inspired by the overwhelming response, comes this second edition.
Adding further Suresh informed that event will feature TED style inspiring talks from highly accomplished artists, entrepreneurs and professionals. Showcase of interesting devices/gadgets/apps created by start-ups. Design talks from architects, designers and movie technology professionals.
Though Startup Fests are common, but, this one is very uncommon and not so the regular types. Keynotes, interactive how-to-sessions, powerful lessons and the fest to cherish for lifetime.
There will be short film competition on Hyderabad Innovation. It will be a great platform for early-stage Start-ups pitching for instant seed-funding. Live art enclosures with accomplished painters/sculptors creating art pieces. During the day for tour enthusiasts there will be themed city tours (crawls) visiting incubators, start-ups, design studios, art galleries and movie technology labs. The initial set of confirmed featured speakers for the talks include : Visveswara Reddy, MP and earlier angel with the India Angels Network, K T Rama Rao Honourable minister of IT & PR Telengana Government, Sushil Varma- Transit Architect leading the station design for Hyderabad Metro, Anand Shakar- an IRS officer a Padmasri Awardeeand dancer, Ganesh Nallari a famous Fashion Designer from Hyderabad, Revathy- Actor and Director, and Sukranth Panigrahi Art Director of Chak De India, Rajiv Chilka the creator of Chota Bheem, and Producer-Director due Raj and DK of “Shor in the city” “Go Goa Gone” fame.
