His main research interests are in the design of digital systems and in particular FPGA system design, biologically-inspired architectures, evolvable hardware and fault tolerant design.

Of his new appointment, Professor Andy Tyrrell says “This journal has been one of the leading publications and the quality consistently high. Professor Bashir Al-Hashimi, the outgoing Editor-in-Chief, has set extremely high standards for me to follow. It will be hard to continue his success with the journal, but I consider it a privilege and responsibility to do my best.”

Prabhat Mishra is Associate Professor in the Department of Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) at the University of Florida, where he leads the CISE Embedded Systems Lab.
