The Clothing Manufacturers Association 0f India (CMAI), celebrating its Golden Jubilee this Year, is organizing India’s Largest ever Apparel Trade Show “The 57th National Garment Fair” from 1st July to 3rd July 2013 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, NSE Complex, Goregaon (E), Mumbai 400 063. The Fair will have well-known names in the Business – Brands, Retailers, Wholesalers, Agents &Distributors etc. The USP of the last Two Fairs, the Business Networking Sessions will continue this year as well.
CMAI’s “57th National Garment Fair” will be Inaugurated by Smt Zohra Chatterji, Secretary (Textiles), Govt of India on 1st July 2013 at 10.30 am
The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), Established in 1963, is celebrating its Golden Jubilee Year in 2013.
Mr. Rahul Mehta, President- CMAI stated that the Fair will be spread over approx. 3.75 Lakh Sq. Feet and will have 589 Stalls displaying over 640 Brands. This will be the India’s Largest ever Garment Fair held so far. Approx 35,000 Retailers from all across India are expected to visit this B2B Fair. Over One Lakh Invitation Cards, each Invitation Card consisting of 12 Pages, displaying Participating Brands in Men’s Wear, Women’s Wear & Kids Wear have been sent by the Exhibitors to their Retailers Wholesalers, Agents &Distributors etc Inviting them to visit their Stall at the Fair.
The Fair will be spread over 3 Halls, viz. Hall I, V & VI of Bombay Exhibition Centre. Hall I will have 303 Stalls of Men’s Wear, Hall V will have 179 Stalls of Kids Wear and Hall VI will have 107 Stalls of Women’s Wear. The Inauguration & Registration of Trade Visitors will take place in Hall VI.
The Business Networking Sessions will provide an Opportunity for Exhibitors to meet Agents & Distributors in the First Session, High Street Retailers in the Second Session and Merchandisers from National Chain Stores in the Third Session. CMAI has invited Reputed Agents & Distributors, High Street Retailers from 15 States and All National Chain Stores to Participate in the Business Networking Sessions where the Exhibitors at the Fair will be provided an opportunity to meet them with prior appointments.
During its Golden Jubilee Year, CMAI will undertake various trade & social responsibilities.
CMAI also organized a “Fashion Retail Summit” on 8th May 2013 at Mumbai. It also Launched “ CMAI’s Domestic Apparel Retail Index” to monitor the Health of the Garment Industry. Presently, the Index, with a Quarterly Indicator, has an Involvement of 50 Brands and expects to grow up to 200 Brands, who would share their Data with the Association in order to capture the Trends in the Industry.
“Size India”, another upcoming Project of CMAI hopes to measure more than Three Lakh Indians to come up with a Standard Indian Sizing in the next few years.
A New Project “Sparsh’ is being Launched by CMAI to Educate its Members and expose them to Responsible and Socially aware Manufacturing Practices. The Association has also invested heavily on Advertising on a “Child-Free Labour” Campaign in last Twelve Months.
The Association has also taken huge strides in its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts. During the last few years, more than 25,000 Free Spectacles have been distributed to its Tailors & conducted nearly 1,000 Free Eye Operations for the Workforce in the Garment Industry. It has also tied up with the Salaam Baalak Trust to offer Clothes to nearly 1,000 Street Children.
CMAI has also set up a “Conciliation and Arbitration Panel” in Association with Indian Merchants Chamber for the benefits of its Members.
