New Delhi : Rain and nail biting cold raised the death toll in the capital during past few days, but volunteer of Infova Foundation were working with full spirit and zeal to relieve the poor and sick people staying out-side AIIMS, Safdarjung Hospital, LNJP Hospital , Karol Bagh and Connaught Place market for three successive days with fresh food, tea, blankets and clothes and helped the helpless people in these terrible weather conditions.
Like previous years the beginning of 2014 remained cold, numb and dusky, Infova Foundation a Delhi based NGO distributed these essential things to poor people, children and patients who came from different states to Delhi for the treatment but are not in the position to find a shelter. Even the few living in ‘Rain Basera’ DTC’s buses outside AIIMS were without proper arrangement of quilts , blankets and food. Many people are living on pavements and footpaths and have nothing to protect themselves from shivering cold, untimely rain and fog.
Infova Foundation distributed blankets, fresh food, tea and clothes to more than one thousand people in three consecutive nights of 16,17 and 18 January at various locations in Delhi, In addition to government hospitals like AIIMS, Safdarjung and LNJP. Infova Foundation known for its charitable work in the health, education, animal protection and women empowerment is soon going to take some more bold steps to address the problems of poor and needy people in the capital city, New Delhi.
According to Mr. Kislay Pandey one of the founding members of Infova Foundation expressed his concern over the irrational and apathetic attitude of people , Why everyone is busy in gossiping about politics and corruption? If people are that much concerned about the nation why they are not taking initiatives to reform the society at the very root level ? In fact poverty is the mother of crimes and illiteracy is the mother of corruptions, first of all we should make ourselves ready to deal with these problem, later on we can talk about changing political scenario which is a very secondary issue for a common Indian struggling with hunger, malnutrition and acute poverty.
Since January 05,the whole north India is experiencing seasonal cold waves due to heavy snowfall in Jammu & Kashmir and it is the toughest time for people who are homeless in Delhi and those who are here for free treatment in government hospitals but couldn’t find a vacant bed inside the hospitals. Many NGOs and people at individual level are working for them and Infova Foundation is the one which is working at mass level.
