Yuvaraj Singh Foundation to create awareness on cancer in 2000+ schools across India

Mumbai  : YouWeCan, an initiative of the Yuvraj Singh Foundation (YSF), in association with Khelnama, a community for Yuvaraj singh Yuvaraj Singh Foundation to create awareness on cancer  in 2000+ schools across Indiasports lovers, is organizing a cancer awareness programme for school children across the country.  The YOUWECAN CHAMPIONS campaign will cover over 2,000 schools across 26 cities and towns in the country, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Patna, Surat, Ahmedabad and Jammu and is expected to start off with Delhi, Mumbai and Chandigarh.

Yuvraj Singh, the cricket icon who fought against cancer inspires the younger generation to support cancer fighters. Through presentations and communication collateral, the campaign aims at educating the students on the consequences of the disease and helping them understand that cancer can be cured when detected early.  The purpose of this campaign is to help children comprehend the disease better, and throw light on the importance of early detection and treatment.

Speaking about the campaign, Yuvraj Singh said, “Every year over 12 million people succumb to the life-threatening disease and in most cases cancer goes undetected till the last stage. I want to create awareness about early detection and also raise funds for free cancer testing for those who cannot afford it. I sincerely urge people to come forward and join the cause.”

Khelnama Editor P.L. Aravind says, “We are a community of sports lovers and we stand by and support YouWeCan’s initiative. Khelnama has the capability to mobilize and take the message out to thousands of sufferers, that there is hope.”
